Detailed Instructions

Please note, to type words on your phone, you use the number pad. To use these instructions, make sure you are using Alpha mode and not Smart mode. In Alpha mode, to type a letter, press the number key with the letter on it. If the letter appears in the first position, press the number once. If the letter appears in the second position, press the number twice. If the letter appears in the third or fourth position, you'll need to press the number 3 or 4 times. To type the letter "b" you need to press the 2 button twice (on the 2 button, you see the letters "abc").

1. On the main menu of your mobile phone, navigate to the Minibrowser and click OK. From here, go to the Home menu.

2. If you have not used the Wireless Web before, you are already on the Home menu. If not, navigate to the Home menu (go right from the bottom menu on your phone). Then go to "Go to", usually the last item on the menu. Click OK.

3. Then type in the URL: jgjg The key strokes on most phones for this URL are: 7 (p) 8 (t) 9 (w) 7 (p). After you see jgjg on your phone, click OK.

Bookmark this page: Navigate to the HELP menu (navigate right on the bottom menu), or if you have a Menu button, hold it down for a couple of seconds. Find the "Mark Site" or "Bookmark" option and click OK.

3. After you bookmark the site, you should be back at the PhoneFish main screen. You will be asked to set up your phone for PhoneFish. Click OK to enter the setup program. You will be prompted for a PIN and other setup information. (A PIN is a 4 to 7 digit number - you'll need it later so make sure you remember it). Once you set the PIN number for your phone, you may do the rest of the setup from your PC or your phone. If you forget your PIN, you can always create a new one from the PhoneFish main menu from your phone.

4. To set up from your PC, select Skip on your phone. To continue setting up from your phone, enter a reply address, userid, password and POP3 server when prompted.

5. Setup from your PC has more options (address book, display options, signature, prepared reply statements) and the ability to add multiple accounts. To set up PhoneFish from a PC browser, go to www.PhoneFish.com . On the login screen, input your phone number and PIN number and click on Login. You'll see detailed instructions on the site after you log in.

6. Once you have set up your phone, you can return to PhoneFish at any time by navigating to the Home menu (navigate right on the bottom menu of your phone and find Home). The second to the last option should be Bookmarks. Click OK on Bookmarks and find PhoneFish.

7. You are now set up to access your e-mail on your phone! With PhoneFish, you will see either new messages or all messages from your email server. The messages you see from PhoneFish are dependent upon your email client's configuration. If you leave messages on the POP3 server, then you will see all messages from PhoneFish. If not, you will only see new messages. If you decide to see new messages only, be sure to close your desktop email client when you are away from your desk .
